Ultrasonography

Ultrasonography

Ultrasonography (ultrasound) at Lasco Medicare uses modern ultrasound systems with high-frequency transducers and Doppler capability to produce clear, real-time images of internal organs and blood flow. Each scan is performed by an experienced sonologist and reviewed by a senior radiologist to ensure accurate interpretation and reliable reports.

Why is Ultrasonography Done?

Ultrasound helps diagnose and monitor a wide range of conditions, including abdominal pain, gallstones, kidney issues, pregnancy and fetal health, vascular problems, soft-tissue injuries, thyroid and breast abnormalities, and for guiding minimally invasive procedures.

Types of Ultrasound We Provide

  • Abdominal Ultrasound — liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys.
  • Obstetric & Gynaecologic Ultrasound — fetal growth, anomaly checks, prenatal measurements (3D/4D available where clinically appropriate).
  • Pelvic Ultrasound — uterus, ovaries, and prostate (transabdominal/transvaginal/transrectal as required).
  • Doppler Ultrasound — assess blood flow in arteries and veins.
  • Musculoskeletal Ultrasound — joints, tendons, soft-tissue injuries.
  • Thyroid & Neck Ultrasound — nodules, enlargement, lymph nodes.
  • Breast Ultrasound — evaluate lumps and guide biopsies.
  • Procedural Ultrasound — image guidance for biopsies or fluid drainage.

How We Perform Ultrasound at Lasco Medicare

  • Appointment & Registration — Book via our website, Doctor/Test Appointment form, or by phone. Choose your preferred branch (Bally or Chinsurah) so the enquiry routes correctly.
  • Preparation & Arrival — Staff confirm instructions (fasting or full bladder) before the scan. Comfortable private rooms are provided.
  • Scan by Trained Staff — A qualified sonologist performs the scan using appropriate probes and Doppler where needed. The sonologist may discuss preliminary findings with you.
  • Radiologist Review & Report — A senior radiologist reviews images and finalizes the report. Images are archived for future reference.
  • Report Delivery — Digital reports are made available via email/portal; printed copies provided on request.

Preparing for Common Scans (typical guidelines)

  • Abdominal: Fast 6–8 hours (no food; clear fluids as advised).
  • Pelvic/Obstetric: Drink water and avoid urinating so the bladder is comfortably full.
  • Vascular/Musculoskeletal/Thyroid/Breast: No special prep usually required.

Safety & Turnaround

Ultrasound uses sound waves (no ionizing radiation) and is safe for all ages, including pregnancy. Routine reports are typically ready within 24 hours; urgent scans can be reported the same day on request.
